An Air Fryer/Oven Combo Is Not Just for Making French FriesCuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven | Sale Price: $229.95 | Reg. Price: $425
When people ask me if they should get an air fryer, my response is to get an air fryer and oven combo so that you can have an appliance that does multiple things without taking over your counter. Yes, I do have a double oven, but something about the countertop air fryer and oven makes meal prep less daunting. The fact that it turns off after the selected time is a huge bonus because I have been known to forget to set a timer.
You can roast two sheets of vegetables and protein at a time or even cook a whole chicken in it. I have also found that I can bulk air fry eggs to give them the perfect hardboiled texture. I love and use the Cuisinart model daily, but others swear by Emeril Lagasse’s Power Air Fryer 360 and Breville’s Smart Oven Air.
It’s All About That Sauce: Never Get Bored With Meal PrepCuisinart Smart Stick Variable Speed Hand Blender | Sale Price: $69.95 | Reg. Price: $130
If you’ve avoided meal prep because you think you will be bored of what you make, you are missing out on the secret ingredient: sauce. A delicious sauce or dressing can elevate your dishes, but you don’t need to spend a fortune buying pre-packaged sauces.
My favorite handheld device is the Cuisinart Smart Stick currently on sale at Wayfair, and I have used the same one for over 10 years now. Use it to make tomato and pesto sauces for pasta and protein, make salsa or make a creamy sauce that goes with virtually anything. I use the immersion blender function to blend soups to make them creamier — you can hide a lot of vegetables in a soup this way.
Glass Containers Are a BPA-Free Way to Take Prep From Oven to FridgePyrex Easy Grab 8 Piece Bakeware Set | Sale Price: $32.99
One of the things I hate about big meal prep days is the big mess. Using containers that can double as bakeware and storage will save you a few dishes. The only storage container I trust in the oven is Pyrex glassware.
A favorite way I use the Pyrex casserole dishes is to prep two to three lasagnas, pasta bakes or pans of enchiladas at one time. The extra time to prep more than one time is minimal, but it saves me at least an hour in subsequent weeks. Just bake, allow to cool and store the extra pans in the freezer for up to four months.
