Reading Time: 4 minutesNow that the first Prime Early Access sale is officially live at Amazon, it’s time to think pragmatically about your Black Friday shopping list — what wouldn’t get you out of your cozy, warm bed on a cold, dark morning in late November? A shiny new TV might be a good motivator, but it’s hard to justify expending extra effort to save 50% on a laundry hamper.
Once you’ve prepared your list of things you wouldn’t leave bed to purchase (which might include that shiny new TV), beat the Black Friday rush by shopping the Prime Early Access sale. As long as you’re an Amazon Prime member, you don’t have to leave your bed for anything. This fall deal event is exclusively for Prime members, but you can always sign up for a 30-day free trial.
It’s worth saving a bit of time, money and hard-earned rest, but don’t wait too long — the Prime Early Access sale ends at 11:59 p.m. (PT) Wednesday, October 12.
Save on Bulk Household Necessities
Mundane household necessities are arguably the most valuable type of Prime deal. Hundreds of thousands of products go on sale during events like Prime Day and the Prime Early Access sale, yet all of the glory goes to those fancy top-shelf tech deals! Sure, saving $20 on a six-pack of dishwasher fluid isn’t the most glamorous deal … but you probably don’t need to buy a new 4K TV every two months, right?
Assuming the Prime Early Access sale follows Prime Day tradition, bulk household supplies frequently show up as a Lightning Deal. If you’re lucky enough to find your preferred brand of toilet paper on Lightning Deal, don’t delay — once the clock or stock runs out, that’s it.
We’ve highlighted a few household staples worth looking out for:
- Tide To Go Instant Stain Remover (3 Pack)
- Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day’s All-Purpose Cleaner Spray, Lemon Verbena (3 Pack)
- Amazon Basics AA Rechargeable Batteries (16 Pack)
- Method Gel Hand Soap Refill, Sweet Water (6 Pack)
- Method Dish Soap, Basil (4 pack)
- Gillette Fusion5 Razor for Men with 4 Razor Blade Refills
- Brita Pitchers and Filters
Vacuum Deals for Any Budget
From sophisticated robot vacuums to good old-fashioned corded powerhouses, vacuum deals are a highlight of the Prime Early Access sale. According to Amazon’s October 6th deal preview, Prime members can save up to 45% on select vacuum cleaners from Shark and iRobot.
The biggest savings typically favor higher-end vacuum cleaners and vacuum bundles, but there are plenty of exceptions to that rule. The Shark AV2501E AI Robot Vacuum is currently selling for $380, 42% off its usual price of $650. You also have budget-friendly upright vacuum cleaners like the Shark NV352 Navigator, which goes on sale pretty often and will likely enjoy a solid discount during the Prime Early Access sale.
The $1,000 price tag on the deluxe iRobot Roomba s9+ Robot Vacuum might look intimidating, but the s9+ returned to its all-time low price of $800 days before the sale began. If the price drops further over the next two days, it might be worth shelling out for iRobot’s “most advanced and deepest clean.”
Kitchenware and Countertop Appliances
If you’re ready to upgrade your old Instant Pot, there’s no need to wait for Black Friday. You can save up to 40% on select countertop appliances from top brands including Ninja, Keurig and Vitamix.
it’s hard to beat the deal value of complete systems and bundles like the Ninja BL770 Mega Kitchen System, which includes a food processor bowl and two to-go cups with lids. This set normally sells for $200, but shop this sale and you’ll take one home for $159.95. On the other hand, we have the humble Keurig K-Mini Coffee Brewer on sale for just $49.99, a record-low price.
If you’re replacing your kitchen tools or starting from scratch, you’ll have no trouble scoring savings on simple kitchenware like utensils and cookware — the Prime Early Access sale is chock full of ultra-affordable kitchen components from Amazon Basics, like this 14-Piece Kitchen Knife Block Set or these Non-Stick Pots and Pans, which come in sets of three, eight and 15 pieces.
Beds, Mattresses and Toppers
Don’t feel too bad if you missed out on the best mattress deals from Prime Day earlier this year — Amazon brought back several Casper and Zinus offers for the Prime Early Access sale.
The Prime Early Access sale features savings up to 30% on Casper pillows and mattress toppers, but we’ve got our eyes peeled for deep discounts on cult-favorite Casper mattresses like the Casper Sleep Original Foam Mattress or the Casper Sleep Wave Hybrid Mattress.
If your budget requires cheaper bed-in-a-box deals, the sale features plenty of comparably cozy mattress deals from Vibe, Zinus and Tuft and Needle. Zinus is another wallet-friendly bedding brand with a heavy presence during Prime events, so you can build the bed of your dreams without breaking the bank — perhaps you can start with this affordable 5” Zinus Box Spring, which only costs $130 (down from $240)!
