Disney+ officially launched and the popular streaming service has quickly become one of the biggest streaming platforms out there. You can gain exclusive access to content from other Disney-acquired properties such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, National Geographic and more. But is a Disney+ subscription worth it?
A subscription to Disney+ currently costs $7.99 a month or $79.99 for an annual subscription. If you’re looking to get a little more bang out of your subscription buck, you may want to opt for the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle for $13.99 a month. At their current prices, this is a pretty solid bundle offer even if you’re only interested in two of these services.

What are the Current Deals on Disney+?
If you want to save on a Disney+ subscription, one of the best ways to do that is springing for the annual membership. It costs $79.99 per year, which is almost a 20% discount compared to the monthly subscription price.
Here are other current deals on Disney+:
- If you are a Verizon Unlimited subscriber, you can bundle your Disney+ subscription into your wireless plan and get a free six-month trial.
- You can also save by bundling Disney+ with Hulu and ESPN+, which comes out to $13.99 a month for all three services. That’s roughly the same price as any of the two services combined, so you’re basically getting the third streamer for free.

Does Disney+ Have a Free Trial?
No, Disney+ does not offer a standalone free trial.
However, you can try the service out for no additional cost if you are a Verizon Unlimited subscriber. Subscribers can bundle a Disney+ subscription into their wireless plan and get a free six-month trial.
How Much Does Disney+ Cost?
Disney+ is one of the cheaper streaming options on the market, which makes it a serious competitor given the quality of its content. What’s better, you can bundle Disney+ with Hulu and ESPN+ to save even more. Here’s a quick breakdown of the Disney+ price plans:
- Disney+ Monthly Subscription – $7.99/month
- Disney+ Annual Subscription – $79.99/year ($6.67/month)
- Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ Bundle – $13.99/month
- Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ Bundle (Ad-Free Hulu) – $19.99/month
If you are waiting for a sale, Disney has been known to offer good discounts on long-term commitments to Disney+. A few months before the streaming service launched, the company offered a three-year subscription plan for $141 (or roughly $47 a year). Then, on Cyber Monday 2019, a one-year subscription to Disney+ went on sale for $59.99. Promo codes and new subscriber deals are relatively rare, but if your patience holds out, you might be able to find a better deal once the service has been out longer.
Does Disney+ Have a Student Discount?
No, Disney+ currently does not have a discount for students. However, there are deals and promos that pop up occasionally where you can get the service discounted or free for a limited period of time.
Does Disney+ Have Ads?
No, Disney+ does not have ads. If you’re springing for the Disney+ bundle that includes Hulu and ESPN+, be aware that the $13.99 plan only supports Hulu with ads. If you want to go completely ad free, you can sign up for the same bundle with no Hulu ads for $19.99.
Disney has announced that it may offer an ad-supported tier that may be cheaper, but it has not been confirmed how much cheaper this tier will be.
Does Disney+ Have Gift Cards?
Yes, you can buy a gift card for an annual subscription to Disney+, but there are some caveats. This card is exclusively for new subscribers and cannot be charged to an existing account. This is a great option if you’re looking to gift a subscription to someone who does not already have one.
The easiest way to pick up a digital Disney+ gift subscription is the link above, but you can also pick up physical cards at retailers like Target or at the Disney Store. You can read our full review of Disney+ gift subscriptions here.
Which Devices Support Disney+?
Disney successfully established deals with the majority of well-known streaming platforms prior to its launch. If you’re currently using other streaming services, chances are good you’ll be able to watch Disney+ no problem.
Additionally, certain devices have further compatibility with Disney+, like Google-Assistant enabled Smart Displays. If you have a Nest Hub or Nest Hub Max along with your Disney+ subscription, you can simply link the two in the Google Home app. Then, you can give a verbal command to your Nest Hub like “Hey Google, play Avengers: Endgame on Disney+” and your device will start streaming your favorite movies and TV series!
Here’s a list of the devices and services currently able to support Disney+:
- Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets
- Android smartphones and tablets
- Android TV
- Apple TV
- Google Chromecast
- Google Nest Hub

Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+ Bundle
If you’re interested in subscribing to both Disney+ and Hulu, Disney is offering a bundle package that includes both services, as well as ESPN+. Here’s what you need to know:
- Hulu/ESPN+/Disney+ Price – $13.99
- Hulu/ESPN+/Disney+ Price (Ad-Free Hulu) – $19.99
What’s Included in the Disney+ bundle?
While this offer gets you ESPN+, Hulu and Disney+, it may not be right for everyone. Hulu offers more adult content that’s not suitable for an all-ages streamer like Disney+. You’ll find content from 20th Century Studios, some of the more mature Marvel titles (like Logan and Deadpool), as well as series from a variety of different networks.
Both ESPN+ and Hulu feature commercials when purchased through this Disney bundle. If you can’t stand the thought of your media being interrupted, however, you can now purchase an ad-free version of the bundle for $19.99.
Unfortunately, there is no free trial for this bundle, nor can you purchase a discounted annual plan. This may change in the future, but there have been no announcements as of yet.
How Many People Can Use One Disney+ Account?
Like Netflix, Disney+ lets you create multiple user profiles for one account. However, Disney has upped the ante by allowing up to seven profiles, as opposed to Netflix’s five. On top of this, you can stream Disney+ on up to four devices at once, so families of all sizes (and distances) should have no problem sharing a single subscription.
What Can You Watch on Disney+?

Whether you’re looking to rewatch a classic or you want to dive into a new blockbuster, there’s a little something for everyone. Here is a small sampling of popular titles on Disney+.
