Ever since I discovered that my stuffy nose and sinus pressure was due to the dry air in my home, and not allergies, a humidifier has been an essential fixture of every one of my major living areas.
And now that I’ve had plenty of time to experience the gentle mistings of a basic humidifier, more things to consider have presented themselves, like ease of cleaning the device, and the harm of over-humidifying. Yes, it’s possible to have too much humidity, which can promote the growth of bacteria or mold.
My quest to address these important issues has led me to the Classic 300S Smart Ultrasonic Humidifier by Levoit. Let’s take a closer look at how this advanced humidifier helps maintain a more comfortable and cleaner experience.

My Experience with the Levoit Classic 300S Smart Ultrasonic Humidifier
At its core, Levoit’s smart humidifier accomplishes what other ultrasonic humidifiers do – send an ultra-fine mist of moisture into the air that doesn’t leave wet messes behind. But what makes it stand out, even if you don’t use any of the smart functions, is its ease of maintenance. I’ve said goodbye to a number of humidifiers because at some point, I’m not able to reach into the tank or its crevices to remove gunk and build-up.
Managing an optimum level of humidity is as simple as pressing the power button. The Classic 300S’s built-in humidity sensor defaults to a max humidity of 50%, and will automatically start and stop the operation depending on the environment. This is especially helpful for me because I fall asleep better when the air isn’t dry, and I don’t want the humidifier running non-stop for eight hours. Of course, you can always set it to manual mode – low, medium, or high – if you’d prefer a continuous mist.
And best of all, the Classic 300S is so quiet when it’s running that I often forget that it’s even there. (Another reason that the auto-off function is useful!) I’ll often go upstairs for bed, and realize that I didn’t turn off the humidifier. That’s ok, though, because the free Vesync app provides remote control of the humidifier, and integrates seamlessly with Alexa or Google Assistant. I can ask Google Assistant to turn off the humidifier, or make it part of my bedtime routine – turn off the lights, play soothing sounds, turn off the living room humidifier.
Levoit also added an adorable little night light inside the tank, which illuminates the water. But for those who are sensitive to light when sleeping, all illumination can be turned off, including that of the front display.
Should You Buy the Levoit Classic 300S Smart Ultrasonic Humidifier?

But the feature that really seals the deal for me is its ability to prevent over-humidifying a room. Having too much moisture in the air over a long period of time can lead to health issues, so I really like the peace of mind that the Classic 300S provides.
