The 48-inch OLED sits in an unusual spot in the TV aisle: small for a living room centerpiece, but increasingly bought by people who want a huge, near-instant-response panel parked on a desk instead. Anyone in that camp has been waiting for LG’s current-generation C5 to come down, and Sam’s Club just cut it to $699.91, a $999 drop off the $1,699 list price, with a five-year warranty worth up to $139.99 thrown in on top.

Here’s what you’ll need to know before you buy:

How to Save $999 on the LG C5 OLED at Sam’s Club

Sam’s Club has the 48-inch LG C5 OLED (model OLED48C5AUA) at $699.91, down from a $1,699 list price for a 58% discount. The listing bundles in a five-year Allstate warranty valued at up to $139.99 at no extra charge, plus 2% back in Sam’s Cash. A membership is required, and shipping is free for Plus members ($55 a year for new members) or $10 for everyone else.

The C5 is LG’s mainstream OLED evo line for the current generation, pairing a 4K panel at a native 120Hz (with variable refresh up to 144Hz) and response times under 0.1ms with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG support. It runs webOS 25 on the a9 AI Processor 4K Gen8 and carries four HDMI ports.

This deal has picked up a +138 score with 43 comments and more than 24,000 views, and desk use came up almost immediately. Community member ROB.E.REIN reported that text is laser-sharp with no edge glow when the set is used for productivity work, and said burn-in has not been a problem despite the usual concerns. Nomar7 put the price in perspective, having paid something close to this for a 42-inch C4 two years ago. One caveat from the thread: CyberSamuraiDMC raised the possibility of a lower in-store price, though 48-inch sets are rarely stocked in the warehouses.
