Apple’s March Event was jam-packed with product reveals and announcements. Many of the long-standing rumors turned out to be true. For example, Apple showed off the affordable iPhone SE, which now supports 5G networks. Plenty of other gadgets were on display during the hour-long even as well. Those included a new chip, new Mac product, and gorgeous 5K Retina monitor.

Here’s a look at everything revealed during Apple’s March Event.

iPhone SE Adds 5G Support and A15 Bionic

For budget-minded shoppers, the new iPhone SE stole the show. Offering 5G support, a new 12MP camera setup and a sleek glass and aluminum chassis, the affordable smartphone is built to compete with flagships at a much higher price. You’ll also have three different colors to choose from – Midnight, Starlight and Product Red.

Couple all that with the A15 Bionic chip (the same one found in iPhone 13), and you’ve got one of the most enticing phones with a sub-$500 price tag. The iPhone SE starts at $429 and will be available for preorder on March 11, with a March 18 release.

iPad Air Grows Stronger With the M1 Chip

Although it’s not getting a radical redesign, the new iPad Air is getting some fancy new hardware with the addition of the M1 chip. Offering an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU, Apple says the improved iPad Air can compete with laptops nearly four times its size. Beyond the powerful new chip, you’ll also benefit from a new 12 MP camera that supports Centerstage during video calls. And with support for 5G, those video calls should be more vivid than ever before – even when you’re not connected to Wi-Fi.

The iPad Air starts at $599, with both a 64GB and 256GB model being offered. Preorders open on March 11, with a March 18 release.

Apple Reveals the Powerful New M1 Ultra and Mac Studio

Apple didn’t show off the long-rumored M2, but instead added a final chip to the M1 lineup. Dubbed the M1 Ultra, it brings unprecedented computing power to the Apple roster. The M1 Ultra can be found in the new Mac Studio – a diminutive computer that boasts some impressive specs and is built around connectivity. Aside from the M1 Ultra, you’ll find a variety of ports for connecting external peripherals, including:

  • Thunderbolt 4 (x4)
  • Ethernet
  • USB-A (x2)
  • HDMI port
  • Pro audio jack

The front of the Mac Studio also features an SDXC slot and two Thunderbolt 4 ports (although these change to USB-C ports if you opt for the M1 Max instead of the M1 Ultra).

All that power isn’t cheap. The Mac Studio starts at $1,999, with the M1 Ultra edition clocking in at a hefty $3,999. Both versions are now available for preorder, with a release planned for March 18.

Studio Display Offers a 5K Retina Display

To coincide with the Mac Studio, Apple revealed a powerful new monitor – the Studio Display. The main selling point here is the massive 27-inch screen, which packs 14.7 million pixels and is considered by Apple to be a “5K Retina display.” Complementing the screen are six speakers that support Dolby Atmos for crisp music playback and a three-mic array for clear video calls.

Hiding inside the monitor you’ll find an A13 Bionic chip to help improve performance and allow connectivity with other monitors for the ultimate workspace. A few different stand options are available for the display, although the standard option gives you 30-degree adjustment angles.

The Studio Display is now available for preorder with a price tag of $1,599, and a release date of March 18.

Apple Event: The Best of the Rest

Apple announced a few other odds and ends during its hour-long event. While they weren’t quite as exciting as an upgraded iPhone SE or the Mac Studio, they’re still worth a quick footnote:

  • Friday Night Baseball is coming to Apple TV+. This will offer two exclusive MLB games every Friday night that won’t be available anywhere else.
  • iPhone 13 is adding a new colorway. The standard iPhone 13 is getting plain-old “Green,” while the iPhone Pro is adding “Alpine Green,” which appears to be a bit lighter than “Green.”
