20 Popular Stores Offering Extended Holiday Return Windows in 2020

Since this year has been met with shipping delays and out of stock items, among other odd circumstances, many major stores have extended holiday return policies for 2020 so you can exchange without the stress. Here’s a list of the 20 most popular stores’ new extended return policies.

Amazon.com Holiday Return Policy

Most orders shipped between October 1st and December 31st can be returned through January 31st, 2021. This is true for Amazon Prime items and items from Amazon’s third-party sellers alike.

adidas Extended Holiday Return

During holiday periods, the return policy may be extended to 90 days past your delivery. Returns are not valid on seasonal shipping surcharges or on personalized products.

Apple Holiday Return Policy

Purchases at the Apple Online Store made between November 10th and December 25th, 2020 may be returned up to January 8th, 2021. Orders placed after December 25th are subject to the standard 14-day return window.

Banana Republic Holiday Return Policy

Online purchases made between November 1st through December 24th, 2020, items can be returned up until February 7th, 2021.

Best Buy Holiday Return Policy

Purchases made October 13th, 2020 through January 2nd, 2021 have an extended return period through January 16th, 2021. Excluded items include:

• Third-party contract items such as cell phones and cell-connected devices
• AppleCare monthly plans
• Holiday products
• Major appliances

Columbia Sportswear Extended Holiday Return

Columbia Sportswear extended its return window from 60 days to 90 days from the purchase date for in-store purchases only. Unfortunately, in-store purchases cannot be returned via mail.

Dell 2020 Return Policy

Purchases made November 1st through December 25th can be returned by January 15th, 2021 or 30 days from the invoice date, whichever is later. Standard return exclusions apply.

Dick’s Sporting Goods 2020 Return Policy

Dick’s Sporting Goods offers an extended COVID-19 return policy which is not just for the holidays. This allows returns up to 90 days after purchase. It also offers curbside return.

GameStop Holiday Return Policy

Any product purchased between November 1st and December 24th may be returned with a receipt by January 15th, 2021.

Home Goods Extended Return Policy

Purchases made between October 11th and December 24th, 2020 can be returned through January 24th, 2021.

Kohl’s Holiday Return Policy

Kohl’s standard return window is very generous and allows customers to return up to 180 days from the purchase date. Premium electronics items purchased between November 1st and December 25th, 2020, must be returned by January 31st, 2021. For any stores that are temporarily closed due to COVID-19, Kohl’s has extended it’s 180-day to allow up to 30 days after the stores re-open.

Macy’s Holiday Return Policy

Macy’s return policy time frames have been extended for purchases made through December 31st, 2020. Those purchases may be returned by either January 31st, 2021 or 90 days after the purchase date—whichever is later. Exclusions apply for some brands and electronics.

Marshalls Holiday Return Policy

Items purchased between October 11th and December 24th, 2020 can be returned or exchanged through January 24th, 2021.

Newegg Holiday Return Policy

Select items purchased between November 1st through December 24th, 2020 will be eligible for extended refund or replacement through January 31st, 2021. Newegg Marketplace items are not included in the extended return policy.

Nike Holiday Return Window

Nike has extended its return window to 60 days for most items. Some exclusions apply.

Old Navy Holiday Return Policy

Items purchased between November 1st through December 24th, 2020 can be returned by January 18th, 2021 or up to 45 days from the date of purchase, whichever is later. Online returns returned by mail must be received by January 18th, 2021 or 45 days after purchase, whichever is later.

Staples Extended Return Policy

Any electronic or furniture purchases from Staples made between November 15th and December 24th, 2020 can be returned until January 25th, 2021.

Target Holiday Return Policy

For Electronics and Entertainment items purchased October 1st through December 25th, the 30-day refund period will begin on December 26th. Apple products have a 15-day refund period, which also begins on December 25th. All other items are subject to the regular return window of 90 days.

T.J.Maxx Holiday Return Policy

Items purchased between October 11th and December 24th, 2020 can be returned or exchanged through January 24th, 2021.

Walmart and Walmart+ Holiday Return Policy

Walmart has extended its holiday return policy for gifts purchased between October 16th and December 25th for the following standard return windows:

• 14 days: Return by January 8th, 2021
• 30 days: Return by January 24th, 2021
• 60 days: February 23rd, 2021
• 90 days: 90 days from delivery date
