  • Bedding and Linens — There are “white sales” events during the first half of the month, so if you’re looking to improve your bedding and linens to cozy up during the winter months, now’s the time! Look to JCPenney, Kohl’s, Macy’s and similar department store for these savings.
  • Televisions & Electronics — The weeks leading up to the football playoffs and big game means tech stores like Best Buy and Amazon will slash prices on great TVs, soundbars and other electronics to upgrade your home entertainment system.

  • Televisions & Electronics — Just like towards the end of January, TVs will go on sale leading up to the big football game. No worries if you didn’t get a chance to nab a new big-screen during Christmas or Black Friday, because you’ll be able to find pretty great deals in February as well.

While it may not seem like an exciting month for shoppers, there are opportunities to get deals in March if you know where to look. In addition to tax season and the summer season approaching, St. Patrick’s Day is on the 17th and primarily the only big event in the month, so we anticipate that retailers will try to roll out events to get shoppers in the door.

  • Tax Software — If you’ve procrastinated on filing taxes, a benefit is that companies like H&R Block and TurboTax will put their software on sale ahead of the official day in April. You can find them through Amazon or Newegg to make the whole ordeal a heck of a lot easier.
  • Grills — Plan to buy all your summer grilling essentials a few months before summer arrives around March, so you don’t end up paying high prices in the summer.
  • Luggage — March for most means spring break traveling is right around the corner. Places like Target, Macy’s, Kohl’s and REI will give 20% to 50% off on luggage.
  • St. Patrick’s Day —  Department stores and online retailers typically put party essentials and green-themed apparel on sale.

April is a great month to stock up on new clothing and spring cleaning supplies. Keep in mind that there’s Easter on the 17th, Tax Day on the 15th, and Mother’s Day approaching in the following month.

  • Vacuums — Make sure your rugs and carpets are squeaky clean with a brand-new vacuum. Target, Walmart and other big retailers will mark down products from Dyson, Bissell and Shark so you can finally get rid of that 10-year-old vacuum that shoots out more dust than it collects.
  • Tax Software — Just like the previous month, you can find tax software for cheap on Amazon, Newegg and Best Buy. Make sure you get those tax forms in on time!
  • Jewelry — Towards the end of April, you’ll begin to see some ads for discounted jewelry as Mother’s Day is creeping up in a few weeks. One-up your siblings with a beautiful (but affordable) necklace for Mom.
  • Easter Products — If you walk into your local Walgreen’s, Target or Walmart around the time of Easter, you’re sure to find that they’re practically giving the holiday-themed candy, stuffed animals and party supplies away with how much these items are on sale.
