It looks like we’ve got another reason to love summer thanks to McDonald’s expanded international menu. Starting now, U.S.-based McDonald’s locations will sell items from its restaurants in the Netherlands, Spain, Australia and Canada.
The new menu item attracting the most attention is the Stroopwafel McFlurry, a Dutch take on the famed Mickey D’s favorite. Stroopwafel typically consists of two waffle cookies stuck together in a thick caramel sauce. The new McDonald’s McFlurry features the chain’s beloved soft serve ice cream with chunks of cookie and caramel mixed into it. Starbucks’ caramel frap may need to watch its back.
For the more savory-inclined customers, McDonald’s is offering other international hits. The Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger features gouda and McBacon sauce, which is a combo of mayo and bacon jam.
If you prefer white meat, the Canadian tomato and mozzarella chicken sandwich may suit you better, with its tomato-herb sauce and brioche bun. And because McDonald’s knows how much you love sides, consider adding some cheesy bacon fries, an Australian item, to your order.
McDonald’s locations in Florida already tested both the Stroopwafel McFlurry and Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger in 2018 to great success.
Other international items tested included the BBQ McShaker Fries and a McSpicy Chicken sandwich. Those options, however, do not appear to be part of the bigger rollout. You’ll have to go to Malaysia and Hong Kong (respectively) to try them out.
Just remember that cost and prices will likely vary by location. Be sure to check with your local McDonald’s for more accurate pricing once the new menu items release.

A proponent of happy hour, the mall, and public transit, Mick loves nothing more than a good deal.
