How To Get Free Food From Chipotle
There is nothing quite like free Chipotle to fill you up for lunch. Here’s how to score the best offers and limited Chipotle BOGO deals, both online and in-store.
1. Chipotle BOGO Deals
Every now and then, Chipotle offers BOGO deals for certain items. One such recent offer was to get a free plant-based chorizo entrée upon ordering one via their mobile app or on Chipotle.com.
App and website orders aren’t the only ways to benefit from Chipotle BOGO deals. They sometimes ask fans to join them for special in-restaurant BOGO events in support of national months and days.
To stay on top of the latest Chipotle BOGO deals, check out our Slickdeals forum and set a Deal Alert to get updates when a deal is live.
2. Gift Card Deals
On special occasions, Chipotle may also offer gift card deals so you can score them at a discounted price. Last Christmas, for instance, the first 10,000 people to purchase holiday e-gift cards worth at least $40 automatically got a BOGO entrée code.
Third-party websites are also known to offer Chipotle gift cards that are worth more than what you pay for them. In this case, the savings are usually around $5 per gift card and there may be a limit to how many you can buy.
3. Chipotle Rewards
When you create an account on Chipotle.com, you are automatically eligible for rewards. Right after your first purchase as a member, you can get free chips and guacamole. If guac is not your thing, you can replace it with queso blanco or salsa.
Here’s how the rewards program works at Chipotle:
- You earn 10 points for every $1 spent, which can be redeemed for menu items and Chipotle merchandise.
- Set a favorite reward in the mobile app and track your points. A burrito, for instance, would be worth around 80-90 points, depending on your protein choice.
- Pay attention to extra point offers and attain the rewards faster than usual.
- As a Rewards member, you can use limited availability promo codes that are only valid on their website or in the Chipotle mobile app.
- There is no limit to how many points you can have, but they do expire after six months of no purchases or redemptions.
- Once you claim a reward, you have 60 days to benefit from it before it expires.
4. Birthday Rewards
As a Rewards member, you also get free food from Chipotle on your birthday. You can redeem your free chips and guacamole anytime during your birthday month once you make a $5+ purchase. It is important that you become a Chipotle member prior to your birthday for this offer to be honored.
5. National Burrito Day
Chipotle fans must know that National Burrito Day is on the first Thursday in April and it always comes with free food from Chipotle. In 2021, Chipotle gave away $100k in free burritos and $100k in Bitcoin to celebrate National Burrito Day on April 1st via a specially created website: Burritos or Bitcoin. To get prizes, you had to play a game and guess a 6-digit password in 10 tries. We can hardly wait to see what the next National Burrito Days will bring, but the bar is set quite high…
6. Take Surveys
Chipotle values your feedback and gives you the chance to win free burritos for an entire year upon completion of a quick survey. You can get a survey invite by making a purchase. You will either have a survey code on your receipt, a label on your digital order or an email with a survey link. Good luck!
7. Sign Up for Newsletters
While subscribing to their newsletters doesn’t automatically give you Chipotle BOGO deals, it does enable you to receive the latest updates and breaking news. Since Chipotle special offers have limited availability, being among the first to know about them makes a difference.
8. Get Alerts on Deals
Set up a custom Deal Alert and never miss out on a Chipotle deal again! These alerts will most often be for gift cards and limited Chipotle BOGO deals when you order via their app or website.
Besides setting custom alerts, you can also add the Slickdeals extension to your browser so you always get the best price when shopping online. Food delivery services like DoorDash or Uber Eats also offer their own special Chipotle deals and this browser extension comes in handy by letting you know about these deals when you order.
Tips on Getting Bigger Portions at Chipotle
Do you love Chipotle and want to get even more than their already generous portions? No problemo.
There are two tried-and-true methods:
- Order a bowl instead of the traditional burrito.
- You get up to 70% more food for the same price, which is a pretty big deal (pun intended).
- Order half and half for meats, rice and beans.
- Instead of choosing white or brown rice, opt for both types and you will get almost double the amount for the same price. The same goes for black and pinto beans. What’s even better, it also works for meats. If you say you want half chicken and half steak, you actually get about 50% more meat than usual.
Don’t forget that corn salsa and fajita veggies are free, so load up!
Never Miss Out on Chipotle BOGO Deals Again
Now that you know how you can get free food from Chipotle as a Rewards member or a smart customer, keep in mind that the easiest way to stay on top of the best offers is to set up a deal alert for Chipotle. It is easy, fast and rewarding! After all, it’s okay to be a little extra.
