Disney+ has gone from one plan at one price to a lineup of bundles, tiers and add-ons that takes real effort to compare. Between standalone plans, four bundles and two ESPN tiers, prices range widely depending on what you pick. Below we break down what each plan includes and how to pay the least for the combination you want.

Every Disney+ Plan and What It Costs

You can subscribe to Disney+ on its own or bundle it with Hulu and other services like HBO Max and ESPN. Each option comes in two tiers: a lower-cost plan with ads or a Premium plan without ads.

Prices went up on Sept. 23 for new subscribers, and current subscribers see the increase starting with their first bill on or after Oct. 21. The table below reflects the new rates.

Below, we break down each plan with what’s included and how to get the lowest price.

Disney+ on Its Own: Save 16% With an Annual Plan

Disney+ on its own comes in two tiers.

  • With ads: $12.49 a month
  • Premium (no ads): $21.49 a month, or $214.99 a year

Only the Premium tier offers an annual option. Paying yearly works out to about $43 less than 12 monthly payments, a savings of more than 16%.

If you’re fine with ads, the Disney+ and Hulu bundle is worth a look. It starts at $11.99 a month, which means you get Hulu added for less than the cost of Disney+ alone.

Save Up to 53% With Disney+ Bundles

Every Disney+ bundle costs less than paying for its services separately. The percentages below compare each bundle’s price with what you’d pay for each service on its own.

Disney+ and Hulu Bundle (Up to 53% Off)

This bundle gives you Disney+ and Hulu for about what Disney+ costs on its own. Both tiers also include select live ESPN college football games and ESPN College GameDay on Disney+.

There are two ways to pay.

  • Monthly: $12.99 with ads or $21.99 for Premium
  • Six-month price lock: $11.99 a month with ads or $19.99 a month for Premium

The price lock saves you $1 a month with ads and $2 a month on Premium, which works out to 52% and 53% off buying Disney+ and Hulu separately. In exchange, you commit to six months. If you cancel early, the cancellation takes effect at the end of the six-month term, and after that the plan switches to the regular monthly price.

If you’re only interested in Hulu, you can subscribe without Disney+ and still find ways to save on Hulu.

Disney+, Hulu and HBO Max Bundle (Up to 43% Off)

This bundle adds HBO Max, which streams HBO originals and movies from Warner Bros., DC and A24. It’s available only as a monthly plan.

Here’s what each tier costs per month.

  • With ads: $21.99, saving you more than $13 a month (38% off)
  • Premium: $34.99, saving you $26 a month (43% off)

Sports fans can add ESPN Unlimited to either tier for $31.99 a month.

Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Bundles (Up to 42% Off)

These bundles add ESPN to Disney+ and Hulu. You pick an ESPN tier first, then choose whether you want ads on the Disney+ and Hulu side. Paying more removes ads from Disney+ and Hulu content only. ESPN content always has ads, even on the higher-priced plans.

ESPN Select includes live sports, highlights and ESPN+ originals.

  • Disney+ and Hulu with ads: $21.99 a month (42% off)
  • Disney+ and Hulu without ads: $32.99 a month (36% off)

ESPN Unlimited includes everything in Select plus ESPN’s full network lineup and NFL Network.

  • Disney+ and Hulu with ads: $35.99 a month (36% off)
  • Disney+ and Hulu without ads: $44.99 a month (39% off)

Football fans on the ESPN Unlimited tier can also add NFL+ Premium for $10 more a month. That gets you NFL RedZone, live local and primetime games on phones and tablets, game replays and NFL Films.

NFL+ Premium content plays in the NFL app, not the Disney+ app, and the add-on is not available on the ESPN Select tier.

Hulu + Live TV: Save 50% on Your First Month

Hulu + Live TV includes more than 95 live channels plus Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select, so you can watch live sports and news without cable.

Here’s what it costs per month.

  • With ads: $99.99
  • Premium: $109.99

🚨 Limited-time deal: New subscribers can get the with-ads plan for $49.99 for the first month. The offer runs through 9 a.m. PT on Oct. 26, and after that the price goes back to $99.99. There’s no introductory discount on Premium.

Students Save 50% on the Disney+ and Hulu Bundle

College and graduate students can get the Disney+ and Hulu bundle with ads for $6.49 a month, half the regular $12.99 price. The offer is open to U.S. residents 18 and older enrolled at an accredited U.S. college, university or other post-secondary school.

To sign up, follow these steps.

  1. Create a Disney+ account with your email address, a password and your date of birth.
  2. Verify your student status through SheerID by entering your full school name and your school or personal email address.
  3. Complete your purchase of the discounted bundle.

The discount lasts as long as your student status stays verified. After that, the plan renews at $12.99 a month. If you’re on a six-month price lock plan, your student bundle starts when that plan ends.

The discount is available only when Disney+ or Hulu bills you directly. If you subscribe through a third party like ESPN or HBO Max, you won’t be able to use it. You can cancel anytime, but Disney+ doesn’t refund partial months.

Add an Extra Member for Less Than a Second Subscription

If someone outside your household wants Disney+, you can add them as an Extra Member instead of paying for a separate subscription. They get their own login, password and profile, and can stream on one device at a time with the same content as the account holder.

Just know that the add-on is billed to the account holder, not the Extra Member, so you’ll need to sort out how to split the cost between yourselves.

Here’s what an Extra Member costs per month.

  • Disney+ with ads: $6.99
  • Disney+ Premium: $9.99
  • Disney+ and Hulu bundle: $7.99
  • Disney+ and Hulu bundle Premium: $10.99
  • Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select bundle: $11.99
  • Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select bundle Premium: $14.99

Only one Extra Member can be added per account. They must be at least 18, live in the same country as the account holder and not already have an active Disney+, Hulu or ESPN subscription.

Extra Member isn’t available with the ESPN Unlimited bundles, the HBO Max bundles or plans that include NFL+ Premium. If you switch to one of those plans, the add-on is removed. You can swap or remove your Extra Member anytime, and the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Disney+ Perks: Free Trials, Discounts and Sweepstakes for Subscribers

Disney+ Perks is a free rewards program for subscribers that offers discounts, free trials and sweepstakes from Disney and partner brands. You need an active Disney+ subscription, and you enroll at disneyplus.com/perks using the same email tied to your account. Extra Members can use Perks too.

Some perks save you money on Disney trips, gear and tickets.

  • 30% off the ESPN Store
  • Up to 25% off rooms and free Park Hopper benefits on select four-night Walt Disney World room-and-ticket packages this holiday season
  • $10 Fandango promo code toward a movie ticket for Disney’s Hexed, in theaters Nov. 25

Others give you free time on apps and services.

Perks rotate without notice, so check the Perks page before you book a Disney trip or count on a specific offer. Free trials may renew at the regular price, so read the terms before you sign up.

How to Use a Disney+ Promo Code

Disney+ doesn’t have a place to enter a promo code at checkout. Bundle discounts, the six-month price lock and student pricing are built into the price when you choose a plan.

Gift cards and partner offers work a little differently.

  • Gift cards: You can use a Disney Gift Card or Disney+ Gift Card bought in the U.S. to pay for any Disney+ plan, including bundles and annual plans. To redeem one, go to DisneyPlus.com/Gift and enter the card number. Disney Gift Cards are sold at DisneyStore.com, Disney stores and other retailers, and if you find one on sale, it lowers what you pay for your subscription.
  • Partner offers: Some phone carriers and internet providers include Disney+ with certain plans. These offers come with their own sign-up steps, so follow the provider’s instructions instead of signing up on Disney+ directly.

Gift cards work only on plans that Disney bills directly. If a phone carrier or another company bills you for Disney+, you can’t use a gift card toward it. Once your gift card balance runs out, you’ll need to add a payment method to keep your subscription.

Editor’s Take

The Disney+ and Hulu bundle with the six-month price lock is the best value in Disney’s lineup. You get two services for less than Disney+ costs on its own, and locking in for six months saves you an extra $1 to $2 a month on top of that. Unless you need ESPN or HBO Max, start here.

Students should skip the bundles and go straight to the student discount. At $6.49 a month for Disney+ and Hulu with ads, it’s the cheapest way to get both services, and it lasts as long as your enrollment is verified. Just make sure Disney+ or Hulu is billing you directly, or you won’t qualify.

Adding an Extra Member is cheaper than a second subscription if you split the cost. At $6.99 a month on Disney+ with ads, that’s less than half what a standalone plan costs. The account holder pays the fee, so work out how you’ll split it upfront. One catch: it doesn’t work with the ESPN Unlimited, HBO Max or NFL+ Premium bundles, so check your plan before you set it up.

Sign up for Disney+ Perks as soon as you subscribe. It’s free, and the free trials for Spotify Premium, Calm and DashPass are worth more than most people’s monthly Disney+ bill. Just watch for auto-renewals when the trial periods end.
