After months of waiting, Halo Infinite finally has a release date. On December 8th, you’ll once again step into the giant green shoes of Master Chief as he investigates another Halo ring, fights off the Banished and attempts to save humanity for the hundredth time.

Pre-Order Halo Infinite at Best Buy

Despite a rocky gameplay reveal in 2020, the hype surrounding Infinite is at an all-time high. There are a few quirks fans aren’t happy about – such as the lack of cooperative play at launch – but overall, Infinite is shaping up to be another huge installment in the beloved franchise.

The Best Pre-Order Deals for Halo Infinite

While Halo Infinite doesn’t have many pre-order discounts, it does have an abundance of pre-order bonuses. Make sure you pay close attention to where you order the game, as exclusive content is available at a wide variety of retailers.
No Halo-exclusive bonuses are available, but eligible customers can save $25.00 by adding a debit card to their account – or $50.00 if you apply and are approved for the Amazon Rewards Visa Card.

Like many other retailers, GameStop is offering the Zeta Sky Armor, Weapon Coatings, Chosen Emblem and Nameplate as a pre-order bonus.

Just like Best Buy, Target is also offering an exclusive SteelBook.

Arguably the coolest pre-order of the bunch, Walmart is offering the Mega Construx Assorted Color Halo Helmet along with its own exclusive SteelBook. You’ll also get the Zeta Sky Armor, Weapon Coatings, Chosen Emblem and Nameplate seen at other retailers.

Which Version of Halo Infinite Should I Pre-Order?

Halo Infinite‘s pre-order situation is a bit unusual. Unlike many triple-A games that’ll launch with multiple editions in increasing price points, Microsoft is instead opting for multiple editions available for just $59.99 – although each edition is carried by a specific retailer.
It’s all slightly confusing, but here’s what you need to know:

Halo Infinite Standard Edition – $59.99

This is the most basic version of Halo Infinite, and it’s available at all retailers. You’ll get the base game and some exclusive in-game content depending on your retailer of choice. If you’re planning on picking up a digital version of Infinite, there’s not much need to worry about any of the below editions – just snag the base game and be ready when it drops in December.

Halo Infinite Collector’s SteelBook Edition – $59.99

Bear with us – SteelBooks are now available as a pre-order bonus through a variety of retailers. These typically include the Zeta Sky Armor, Weapon Coatings, Chosen Emblem and Nameplate along with the unique case, although you’ll need to verify through each retailer before purchase.
New pre-order discounts seem to be announced – or updated – on a weekly basis, so make sure to read the fine print before making a purchase. For now, here’s what we know comes with the SteelBook edition of Halo Infinite:

  • Halo Infinite base game
  • Exclusive Halo Infinite SteelBook
  • Zeta Sky Armor (Retailer specific)
  • Weapon Coatings (Retailer specific)
  • Chosen Emblem (Retailer specific)
  • Chosen Nameplate (Retailer specific)

Halo Infinite Collector’s SteelBook Edition + Mega Construx Halo Helmet – $59.99

Only available at Walmart, this exclusive edition of Halo Infinite comes with the following content:

  • Halo Infinite base game
  • Zeta Sky Armor
  • Weapon Coatings
  • Chosen Emblem
  • Chosen Nameplate
  • SteelBook
  • Mega Construx Assorted Color Halo Helmet

Where to Pre-Order the Limited-Edition Halo Infinite Xbox Series X Console

While Halo Infinite has a strange pre-order situation, things are much more straightforward for its limited-edition console. Announced during the onslaught of Gamescom announcements in August, the already-popular bundle includes Halo Infinite and a limited-edition Xbox Series X console – which takes design cues from Master Chief’s iconic armor.
Although it’s currently sold out at most locations, here are the places you’ll want to keep a close eye on:
