So you just bought/built a new gaming PC, or maybe you’re looking to freshen up an existing rig. Having the right peripherals — like a gaming monitor, quality headphones, gaming keyboard — can make a huge difference between simply being able to run a game versus actually enjoying it as the creators originally intended.

There are a lot of devices out there that are labeled as “gaming” specific, but that term is being thrown around too loosely these days. One brand that’s consistently been producing quality gaming gear for as long as I can remember is CORSAIR, and I’d like to share with you my top picks for peripherals that really change the game (pun intended!).

Keep in mind that CORSAIR engineers and produces premium products, and they’re priced accordingly. For example, you can buy less expensive headphones that will make your games “not silent,” but you won’t have access to the best audio quality. You’ll also be missing out on exclusive features like tailored comfort or spatial surround sound.

So, now that we’re clear that this list is about extracting the best possible gaming lifestyle, let’s take a closer look at the actual CORSAIR products!

CORSAIR XENEON Gaming Monitor

Slickdeals

At 32 inches with a QHD resolution and up to 165 Hz refresh rate, CORSAIR’s first-ever gaming monitor hits the sweet spot in terms of specs. It features a quantum dot IPS display that boasts a 1ms response time, and has the best color accuracy I’ve seen in the gaming category — 100% sRGB, 100% Adobe RGB, and 98% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage.

Sony

The DCI-P3 coverage is what makes this display also suitable for designers and creatives. Images really pop, and 4K videos look incredibly life-like. This vibrancy translates really well to games too, and along with the 32-inch screen size and ultra-thin bezels, makes the action feel really immersive — I’m able to see details that I missed while playing on a 27-inch monitor. (The above screenshot doesn’t do the monitor justice! You have to see it with your own eyes.)

An HDR400 certification and AMD Freesync Premium add even more fidelity to the movements on screen, and make this an excellent companion to a PlayStation 5. Plus, the XENEON monitor auto-detects inputs, so you can connect both your console and PC, and XENEON will switch to whichever input has an active signal.

CORSAIR HS80 Wireless Gaming Headset

Slickdeals

It feels like everyone is making “gaming headsets” these days, but like I mentioned before, CORSAIR’s popular HS80 wireless headset does more than just make sound — it envelopes you with rich details and immersive spatial audio.

Using a pair of 50mm neodymium drivers, the HS80 effortlessly and accurately reproduces sound across a wide range of frequencies (20Hz-40,000Hz). Echoes from explosions in the distance are just as detailed as the roar of the machine gun that’s blasting in front of my face. And I’m able to hear ambient sounds that my friends don’t, like the metallic pinging of bullet casings on the floor or the soft hissing of hydraulic machinery nearby. All of this brings me into the game as a participant of this make-believe world, instead of feeling like a spectator.

As an added bonus, a license for Dolby Atmos (3D audio) is included with every HS80 headset. Simply connect the wireless receiver to your PC and use the Dolby Access app to switch between profiles for gaming, movies, music, and more. In wireless mode, the HS80 receives audio encoded at 24-bit 48kHz. But for fidelity enthusiasts, connect the HS80 via the included USB cable and you’ll experience even higher resolution audio at 24-bit 96kHz.

The plush memory foam earpads with breathable fabric and a floating headband work together to deliver long-term comfort for those serious gaming sessions with friends. And like the XENEON monitor, the HS80’s low-latency Slipstream wireless technology works perfectly with a PlayStation 5.

CORSAIR K100 Optical-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Corsair

During a time when mini-keyboards are trending, CORSAIR’s flagship full-size K100 gaming keyboard feels so luxurious for more reasons that just its layout. The extra real estate allows for dedicated macro keys, media controls, and a multi-use scroll wheel that’s compatible with iCue and Elgato Stream Deck software.

First and foremost, this keyboard is all about speed, speed, speed. The K100 utilizes standard height PBT keycaps and a standard travel distance, but the sensitivity is turned up to 11 thanks to CORSAIR OPX optical-mechanical switches that feature a 1mm actuation and 0.25 ms response time. The keys have also been tuned to require very little pressure, but still bounce back quick enough for rapid-fire key presses.

The per-key RGB backlighting and 44-zone LightEdge bring a cool ambience to your gaming space, projecting colors on three sides of the keyboard. Throw in the magnetic wrist rest, and I can’t think of any area that the K100 gaming keyboard is lacking.

CORSAIR ST100 Headset Stand w/ 7.1 Surround Sound

Slickdeals

This last item is purely a quality-of-life addition, but no less essential, in my opinion. The ST100 headset stand won’t improve your aiming accuracy or KDA ratio, but it offers a luxurious place to hang your headphones (it’s constructed with aluminum!), and lets you have the wireless receiver for your headphones much closer, eliminating any potential signal interference.

The 3.5mm audio jack also features 7.1 surround sound capabilities, and the dual USB 3.1 ports provide convenient charging for any devices and 24-bit 96kHz audio quality for your HS80 headphones.
