Despite being a relatively new member of the headphones family, Beats have quickly become one of the most popular brands around. With their iconic blend of audio engineering, fashion sense and premium price tag, the stylish headphones have gone toe-to-toe with industry giants such as SonySennheiser and Bose. Regardless of which product in the Beats catalog you opt for, you’ll be treated to an impressive listening experience – although your wallet might feel a bit lighter than you’d expect.

Shop Beats on Amazon

There’s no doubt Beats headphones are an expensive purchase, but with a bit of research and patience, you can typically find them at a massive discount. Plenty of factors impact the price of the headphones – including color and time of year – but it’s more than possible to find them at a reasonable price. Here are a few strategies to help you save money when shopping for the popular headphones.

Certain Beats Headphones Are More Likely to Be on Sale

The Beats lineup is composed of several high-performing products, each with its own set of strengths and weaknesses. All of them, however, share the incredible performance you’d expect from a premium set of headphones.
With that being said, the best way to save money on a pair of Beats is by keeping your options open and not locking yourself into a specific model. Some of the Beats lineup can frequently be found on sale – such as the Solo 3 and Solo Pro – while others rarely see a discount.
Whether you’re looking for over-ear, on-ear or in-ear headphones, the Beats lineup has more than one option for you to choose from. Stay flexible with your requirements, and you’re bound to find something on sale. Even if it’s not your first choice, it’s hard to go wrong with anything in the lineup – especially when you can get it at a discounted price.
According to the Slickdeals community of savvy shoppers, here’s how many notable sales we’ve seen for each product in the Beats’ catalog over the past year:
Beats Noteworthy Sale Frequency (June 2020 – June 2021)

  • Beats Solo Pro – 8
  • Beats Solo 3 – 8
  • Beats Studio3 – 6
  • Powerbeats Pro – 5
  • Powerbeats – 2
  • Beats EP – 1
  • Beats Flex – 1

If you’re in the market for Beats Flex or Beats EP, you’ll probably want to broaden your horizon – with hardly any notable sales over the past year, you could be waiting a while for the next big promotion. Instead, keep your eyes peeled for all sorts of deals on both the Solo 3 and Solo Pro, which see discounts every few months.

Current Deals and Discounts on Beats Headphones

The holiday season tends to get most of the Beats sales, but that doesn’t mean we’re in a drought during the summer months. In fact, a few incredible promotions are currently going on – offering a variety of Beats headphones at some of their lowest prices. The Powerbeats Pro and Beats EP are also on sale for an incredible price, so now is the time to pick up the discount-defiant models while you can.

Don’t Be Picky With Your Colors

Finding a pair of Beats headphones on sale is only half of the story. You’ll also need to make sure your preferred color is part of the discount. That’s right – not all colors of the same model are given the same price. At the time of writing, here are the prices for the Studio3 on Amazon:

  • Matte Black – Sale Price: $199.00 | Regular Price: $349.95
  • Blue – Sale Price: $289.00| Regular Price: $349.95
  • White – Sale Price: $289.00 | Regular Price: $349.95
  • Red – Sale Price: $199.00 | Regular Price: $266.26
  • Midnight Black – Price: $349.95
  • Defiant Black-Red – Price: $271.59

Shop Beats Studio3 on Amazon

That’s more than a $150 difference between the cheapest and most expensive pair of Studio3 headphones! Because of this, you’ll want to cycle through all the color options when searching for Beats, as you’ll be amazed by the difference in price based solely on its color scheme. Of course, the colors that tend to be cheapest are typically the least popular ones, but that’s not to say they aren’t stylish or don’t feature the same performance.
If you’re willing to pick up designs that are less mainstream, you’re well on your way to saving hundreds of bucks.

Hold Out for Big Promotions on Black Friday

It goes without saying, but you’re more likely to find Beats headphones on sale around popular shopping holidays like Black Friday or Amazon Prime Day. In fact, most of the big promotions seem to occur exclusively around Black Friday and the early days of December.

Beats Headphones are Most Likely to be On Sale at These Retailers

While most nationwide retailers seem to discount Beats headphones periodically, some are more reliable than others. Over the past few years, these outlets have consistently offered promotions for a variety of headphones in the Beats catalog. There’s no guarantee that the trend will continue throughout 2021, but you’ll definitely want to keep your eyes on these four stores.
Best Buy
It should come as no surprise, but Best Buy is a hotbed for Beats deals. In fact, it could be argued that it’s the best place to find Beats headphones on sale. Over the past few years, the retailer has offered the Solo3 at a discount numerous times, along with periodic sales for the Studio3 and Solo Pro. These seem to pop up at random times throughout the year, so be on the lookout for a surprise sale from the electronics giant.
Amazon
Amazon is hit or miss with its Beats promotions. Last November the Solo3 went on sale for just $120, and before that they were listed for $140 in July. It’s never a bad bet to stay dialed into Amazon – in fact, the Solo3 is currently available for just $139.99, although the sale is limited to specific colors.
Staples
You wouldn’t guess it, but Staples is one of the few places that frequently carries Beats at a discounted price. The Powerbeats were $50 off last December and included free shipping – one of the better promotions we’ve seen for the popular earbuds. Other products in the Beats family rarely go on sale at Staples, but it’s a good place to watch if you’re interested in the Powerbeats.
Target
Last December, Target was offering the Studio3 Wireless headphones for just $157.50 – more than 50% off their regular price of $349.99. The retailer has since gone quiet with Beats promotions, but it’s definitely a place to watch during the holiday season.
Walmart
Not to be outdone by Target, Walmart also held a big sale on Beats Studio3 headphones last December. Much like Target, however, there haven’t been any noteworthy Beats discounts at the retailer since. Still, it’s one of the few places that has discounted the Studio3 headphones in the past year, and it’s one you’ll want to add to your watchlist.
