Everyone loves a free chicken sandwich, so it’s no surprise KFC’s recent “Buy One Get One” Spicy Chicken Sandwich combo offer turned heads on our site pretty much immediately. However, this deal has managed to drum up more than a little drama in our community.

Within an hour of the offer going up, thread comments were stacked with some version of “I don’t see it,” followed by one member in Southern California who did. It seems as though where you live may decide whether you can get in on it at all, but luckily the end date is far enough out that things may change in the coming weeks.

Here’s what you’ll need to know to cash in on this offer:

How to Get a Second Spicy Chicken Sandwich Combo Free at KFC

The KFC BOGO offer lives inside KFC Rewards, which is free to join. Log in on the KFC app or the mobile website, find the buy one, get one free Spicy Chicken Sandwich Combo, and tap the “Redeem” button before you build your order. Each combo comes with the sandwich, a side and a medium drink, so you are walking out with two full meals for the price of one. Orders have to go through the app or website, and free pickup is available at locations that offer it.

The deal is valid through December 25, 2026, which gives you plenty of runway for a lunch or two between now and the holidays. As with most KFC promotions, prices and participation vary by location, and that caveat matters more than usual here. If you don’t spot the coupon right away, member HonestCaption869 found it under the Deals tab rather than in the main rewards list, and soopervoo saw it in their rewards only after logging in.

Why the Offer Might Not Show Up for You

The thread title calls this the Spicy Chicken Zinger Sandwich, and that name has some history. The Zinger is one of KFC’s best sellers overseas, but it disappeared from U.S. menus years ago. KFC began testing a new Zinger in California in January, with a spicy marinated chicken breast, shredded lettuce and Colonel’s Mayo on a brioche bun, priced at $6.49 for the sandwich alone at one Los Angeles location. Reporting at the time pegged the test to San Diego and Los Angeles stores, with a combo coming in under $10.

That would explain the pattern in the comments. This deal has earned a +351 deal score with 51 comments and more than 48,000 views, and a large share of those comments come from rewards members who can’t find the coupon at all, starting with injectedEnt, who came up empty both online and in the app. ElCheapo37 guessed the offer is location specific, and MemorableThread431 backed that up by reporting it showed up in their offers in SoCal.

It’s worth noting that this is all speculation on our part based on the locations of various commentors. If you’re outside the test area, try switching your selected store in the app to see whether a different location unlocks it, and check back occasionally since the offer runs through Christmas.

Fast food BOGO offers like this one come and go all year, and they often roll out to a handful of markets before they go wide. Set up a Deal Alert for KFC or “BOGO chicken sandwich,” and you’ll get a notification as soon as a matching deal is posted, whether that’s this offer reaching your area or the next free meal from another chain.
