Reading Time: 2 minutes

I like to look at Prime Day as more of a practical shopping event versus the impulse buys that happen during Black Friday. At least for me. Amazon has so many deals on household essentials that are useful, but not as exciting to unbox when they arrive. I’ve already ordered what I actually need, so I decided to look around for things that are more exciting than a crap ton of espresso pods.

Camera Lens Coffee Mug

I used to have one of these and it was my favorite coffee mug. There are definitely better one when it comes to keeping your drink warm, but are they going to be as cool as this? I think not. For $10 it’s worth it. Especially if you have a photographer friend.

Bluetooth Rotary Phone That Connects to Your Cell Phone

This is something I would never buy, but my wife loves anything vintage. She would be ecstatic if I surprised her with this. A vintage phone that connects to your cell phone? She’d use it all the time. The price is a bit ridiculous at $68, even with the 15% Prime Day discount. Definitely a want and not a need.

Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

I’ve been wanting a robot mop for a while. I definitely don’t need it, but I hate mopping. Vacuuming, no problem. But getting the mop and bucket out is a drag, and with dogs the floors never stay clean for long. Having a little robot on a schedule to do a quick mop every evening sounds really nice, to be honest. They’re not cheap, though, even with this $370 Prime Day deal that knocks 43% off the Narwal vacuum and mop combo (use coupon code NVPD6XPRO at checkout).

Super Bright Flashlight

I don’t camp enough to really need a crazy strong flashlight, but the little kid in me still really wants one. This one from Phixton is on sale for Prime Day and it’s calling my name. If you use coupon code XNRZ9TMK at checkout the price is only $8.90. Not sure it will deliver on the 100K lumens, but I don’t need it to be as bright as the sun, so I think it’ll be fine.

Garlic Peeler and Vegetable Chopper

I love to cook and usually don’t mind prepping vegetables and peeling garlic, but some nights it would be nice to get that part over with faster. I actually didn’t even know there was something like this silicone garlic peeler, but there is and it’s only $5 during Prime Day. I think the “wants” win this one.

Another kitchen tool that will speed up chopping veggies is this Fullstar Original Pro Chopper. It looks like something my mom would have bought from the Home Shopping Network back in the day, but it has solid reviews and it looks like chopping onions without tears is a possibility. It’s 53% off during Prime Day, so it’s down to $24 right now.

Propane Torch

I’ve seen this product on Slickdeals a few times, at lower prices than today’s Prime Day deal actually. I can’t think of any reason whatsoever for me to own one of these, but I bet it would be a lot of fun. S’mores anyone? Maybe it’ll motivate me to go camping more often so I can use it to light camp fires.

For $39 I’m not biting, but if it comes back down to the ~$25 we’ve seen in the past I might need to order one.
