It looks like Chewy is hoping to attract more people to its Autoship service, which automatically delivers you pre-set order of pet products at an interval of your choosing. Conveniently, this interval can be changed at any time.

So basically, one can order a bag of dog food, request that another bag ship in four weeks, and Chewy will automatically charge you and deliver the product. If, however, you later realize you don’t actually need the food for six weeks, you can go back into your account and change the delivery time. Naturally, you can also change your standing order as well during this time. Additionally, they offer order tracking starting 24 hours after your purchase. Shipping is free on orders of $49 or more, but smaller orders will incur a $4.95 shipping charge.

Users are free to cancel their Autoship orders at any time, so if you just want to put in your first purchase of pet food, get your 40% off, and cancel the next order immediately, that’s definitely an option. One thing to keep in mind before purchasing, however, is that Chewy only offers the 40% discount on specific brands of pet food. But, most of these select brands also offer an additional 5 to 10% discount that stacks with the 40% discount.

While the “select brands” caveat may seem like a catch, Chewy is actually partnered with a number of top-shelf, high-quality pet food brands. It should be noted that there is a maximum discount of $30 for this offer, so there’s a limit to how much you can game the system. That said, however, this seems like a really solid deal for pet owners looking to stock up on their preferred brand of food at an affordable price.
