Reading Time: 2 minutesLuna, a cloud gaming service run by Amazon, has officially launched in the United States. It comes after a lengthy early access phase that began in October 2020. A variety of premium subscription plans are available for Amazon Luna. Right now, Prime members will receive a monthly rotation of free games as part of their current subscription.
For the month of March, you’ll have free access to five different games through Amazon Luna. These titles can be streamed to any supported device. That includes PC, Mac, Chromebooks, and web apps on iOS and Android. That means you don’t need a robust gaming rig to check out any of the games on its list. The service is Amazon’s answer to platforms such as Google Stadia and GeForce Now, which let you stream games remotely.
Here’s a closer look at all five Luna games that’ll be free to Amazon Prime subscribers:
- PHOGS!
- Devil May Cry 5
- Flashback
- Observer: System Redux
- Immortals: Fenyx Rising – Gold Edition (March 8 – March 15)
Besides Immortals, all the above games will remain playable for Prime members until March 31.
Luna offers a variety of premium subscription plans beyond the free Prime Gaming channel. All told, there are six different packages. Each one offers a unique selection of content and games. For example, the Luna+ plan costs $6/month. It offers titles such as Control, Ghostrunner, The Medium, and more. Additionally, the Retro Channel will run you $5/month and gives you access to classic titles such as Street Fighter 2, Metal Slug 3, and Dragon’s Lair.
A full list of available plans can be found on the Amazon Luna website.
Amazon offers a custom-built Luna Controller for its cloud gaming service. It’s also compatible with both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One controllers. If you’re playing on PC, it even supports mouse and keyboard inputs. Anyone playing on a smartphone or PC, however, might be best served by picking up the dedicated Luna controller.
