Fans of the Beats Studio Buds’ sleek design are in luck, with new rumors claiming Apple is gearing up to release Beats Fit Pro wireless earbuds. The most recent images reveal a striking resemblance to the Studio Buds lineup.

The most recent details about the earbuds’ appearance come from MacRumors contributor Steve Moser who found images of the Fit Pro hidden in the iOS 15.1 Release Candidate seeded last week.
The leaked images show the earbuds resemble the Studio Buds launched earlier this year, as both boast a fully wireless in-ear bud and tiny frame. In contrast to their predecessor, the Fit Pro feature winged tips. They also appear to be available in four different colors: black, gray, purple and white. This would be an upgrade from the Studio Buds, which have a more limited color selection of black, white and red.

Apple kept the Fit Pro a secret at its most recent “Unleashed” event. That means the rumored news about the earbuds to have debuted since the event remains unconfirmed. Despite the tech giant’s secrecy, the influx of information from multiple reliable sources is an encouraging sign the Fit Pro will soon be joining Apple’s lineup.

Potential Fitness Applications

It’s possible the small design tweaks from the Studio Buds are an indicator that Apple is going to market the rumored product as exercise earbuds. The physical change led TechRadar to speculate if the winged tips are intended to make the earbuds more secure and less prone to slippage during a workout. To take this idea one step further, the Fit Pro charging case bears more of a resemblance to Beats’ older exercise headphones, the Beats Powerbeats Pro, as opposed to that of the Studio Buds.

This is all still just speculation about how the Fit Pro will be marketed. But the information available to us seems to point toward a fitness application.

Other Rumored Feature Advancements

Most of the rumored features we’ve heard about have come from 9to5Mac, an Apple news site that claims to have been given information from unnamed sources about the headphones. This sudden influx of new information is an encouraging sign the Beats Fit Pro will hit shelves in the near future.

As reported by 9to5Mac, the Fit Pro headphones have a lot more to offer than a sleek design reminiscent of the Studio Buds. Sources claim the new earbuds will boast Apple’s H1 chip, which the Studio Buds didn’t include. If true, the advanced chip would make the earbuds better suited for fast pairing with improved active noise cancellation technology.
Sources have further informed 9to5Mac that the Fit Pro will have a battery life of six hours when ANC is turned on, and with the charging case they’ll be able to run for about 27-30 hours. This is a big improvement from the Studio Buds, which offer five hours of charge when ANC is on and 15 hours total using the case.
The site has also reported that the Fit Pro will come equipped with a built-in accelerometer to eliminate external noise while the microphone is in use. If this rumor is true, that means less outside noise from sources such as wind and vehicles. That would much more clear audio during phone calls. TechRadar speculates the accelerometer is another indicator the Fit Pro will be marketed for athletics, claiming it could be used to measure and record workouts.

Anticipated Launch Date

According to 9to5Mac, sources claim the headphones are set to be announced the week of November 1st. Shipments could start as soon as a few days after. This release timeline could mean Apple is possibly looking to launch a more budget-friendly headphone soon. This will likely take place after the AirPods 3 announced at the “Unleashed” event, which hit the market on October 26th.

What Price Tag Can We Expect?

We’ve yet to hear much substantial information about Fit Pro pricing. Studio Buds debuted for $149.99 in June. With the rumored addition of Apple’s H1 chip, the Fit Pro may end up being a bit more expensive.

Even more indication that the unreleased product will be pricier than the Studio Buds is the inclusion of “Pro” in its name. Apple first tacked this marker onto a cell phone in the iPhone 11 lineup. The company claimed the tag meant the phone was one for professionals. Since then, “Pro” indicates advanced functionality and also a higher price tag. That’s unlikely to change with the Fit Pro.
Even if the new headphones end up being a bit pricier than the Studio Buds, chances are they won’t completely blow the old price tag out of the water.

Discounted Alternatives to the Fit Pro Headphones

The Beats Fit Pro headphones could debut in the coming week. But we compiled some deals on alternative discounted Apple headphones for those looking to purchase a pair now.
