T-Mobile is one of the popular smartphone carriers on the market, and now it seems the company is doubling down on its efforts to become a household internet provider. As of December 8, T-Mobile has been offering an incredible deal that lets you add 5G Home Internet to your service for just $25/month. That’s a massive 50% discount – and the price is guaranteed for life with T-Mobile’s “Price Lock” promotion. However, there are a few restrictions that might limit your eligibility.

To take advantage of the impressive offer, you’ll simply need to add a new Home or Small Business Internet Line to a qualifying voice line. All consumer voice rate plans are eligible (meaning you won’t need a pricey Magenta MAX plan), with the exception of the $0 subsidized rate and Hometown Discount plans. Home Internet Lite and Small Business Internet Lite plans are also not eligible for the price cut.

If you have questions about your current plan or eligibility, be sure to check out the full terms on T-Mobile’s website. The restrictions are fairly lenient, so there’s a good chance you’ll qualify. You can also activate a paid voice line if you don’t already have one. Keep in mind that you might need to chat with a customer service representative to add the 50% discount to your service – and there’s no advertised end date for the promotion, so be sure to check out the offer while you can.

If you do manage to qualify and add the service to your contract, you’ll benefit from no data caps, contracts, or hidden fees.

Is it worth it?

If you qualify for the deal and need a reasonably fast internet service, T-Mobile’s offer is worth a closer look. You might see throttled speeds during peak hours, but it’s hard to beat the low price of $25/month. And with Price Lock, you won’t have to watch your payments rise as the years go by.

You’ll also need to use the provided T-Mobile Gateway as your router/modem, which could be an issue if you prefer the speed of your current device. The biggest issue, however, could be ensuring your location is compatible with the service. The T-Mobile Gateway is intended for use at the specified address, and you could run into issues if you move to a new location.

Beyond those restrictions, there aren’t many other downsides to this deal.
