The Segway Ninebot MAX Electric Kick Scooter advertises an impressive 18.6 MPH, but as Slickdealers learned late one Sunday night, an accidental steep discount can make it fly at lightning speeds.
Around 4:15 a.m. EST on April 26th, Slickdeals user wadafak happened upon what seemed to be a too-good-to-be-true discount on this Segway Electric Kick Scooter. The foldable scooter was listed on Amazon for $60, or a whopping 91.4% off the listed price of $799. And as a cherry on top of an already sweet deal, the discounted Segway scooter also came with free shipping.
Slickdealers who happened to be on the forum tried for the glitch-induced deal, with some even playfully suggesting “shhhhh” so as to not overload Amazon and alert them of the fortunate pricing mistake.
Unfortunately, even if it had been kept under wraps, the deal left as quickly as it came, and Slickdealers trying for it only 15 minutes after the original post were greeted with the sobering price tag of $799.

Considering the odd hours of the deal, it is likely that Amazon quickly caught and corrected the 91.4% discount. Hopeful shoppers who weren’t awake when the deal first dropped kept trying, even hours after other Slickdealers confirmed the deal’s demise. And can you blame them? The Segway Ninebot Max can travel up to 40.4 miles on one charge, has an LED rider display with Bluetooth connectivity and two people can fit on one scooter for a snug-but-safe ride.
“Who actually got to checkout and paid?” asked one Slickdealer. The answer is, not many, and by the forum’s count, a few people got it—one lucky Slickdealer even managed to grab more than one.
“Thank you OP. Got one for me and my sister haha,” said Slickdealer Eragorn. Their secret to such a steal? “I saw it literally the instant it was posted.” Still, the game isn’t over for Eragorn and the other lucky few who managed to snag this deal. “Now the wait begins to see if it actually ships!” Eragorn added after confirming to another forum member the deal stopped.
“Got one! I’ll be surprised if this actually ships,” said SecretAznMan. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for anyone who managed to snag this lightening quick deal.
So how can you make sure you stay on top of accidental, deep-discount Amazon deals without constantly hitting the refresh button? Sign up for a Deal Alert and set it to track “Price Mistakes.” This way, you’ll get a notification whenever a price mistake is posted, be it a motorized scooter like this deal or a 8K TV bundle for $150 — a fraction of the $4,500 MSRP.
