After taking the Saints out of Stilwater to invade the White House and fly around outer space, Volition is finally bringing things back down to earth. The upcoming Saints Row is not only a reboot of the iconic series but will also give us a look at the gang’s origin story — which traces back to the American Southwest.
Saints Row still looks to be just as over-the-top as its predecessors, although it sounds as if we’ll be surrounded by a new supporting cast. The game made its grand debut during Gamescom, with pre-orders opening shortly after. You can check out the action-packed announcement trailer below:

Which Version of Saints Row Should I Pre-Order?

Credit: Volition/GameStop
Saints Row doesn’t seem to know what the word “excessive” means. The series has always been about going bigger than its competition, and that spirit holds true for the number of editions available for pre-order. All told, there are five different versions of Saints Row – three of which are also available digitally.
Standard Edition – $59.99
This is the only version you’ll find in both digital and physical formats. It’s also the cheapest way to get your hands on the game while still picking up a few pre-order bonuses along the way. However, we strongly recommend looking at the Criminal Customs edition — available only at GameStop, this version of Saints Row is also $59.99 and comes with a few extras.
- Base Game
- Idols Anarchy Pack
Gold Edition – $89.99
This midrange digital edition includes tons of virtual goodies — including access to the Saints Row Expansion Pass. Here’s what you’ll get with your $89.99 purchase:
- Base Game
- Idols Anarchy Pack
- Saints Criminal Customs (Saints Custom Convertible and Saints Custom Stab Jacket)
- Los Panteros American Muscle Bundle (Custom ‘Fury’ Motorcycle and ‘El Lanzador’ Heavy Weapon Skin)
- Saints Row Expansion Pass (Access to three expansion episodes)
Platinum Edition – $99.99
If you missed out on Saints Row The Third, this might be the most enticing option. Not only will you get everything included in the Gold Edition, but you’ll also get a copy of Saints Row The Third Remastered. For an extra $10, that’s not a bad deal.
- Base Game
- Idols Anarchy Pack
- Saints Criminal Customs (Saints Custom Convertible and Saints Custom Stab Jacket)
- Los Panteros American Muscle Bundle (Custom ‘Fury’ Motorcycle and ‘El Lanzador’ Heavy Weapon Skin)
- Saints Row Expansion Pass (Access to three expansion episodes)
- Saints Row The Third Remastered
Criminal Customs – $59.99
Available exclusively at GameStop, this physical edition of Saints Row includes a few of the goodies found in the much more expensive Gold Edition. Specifically, you’ll get:
- Base Game
- Idols Anarchy Pack
- Saints Criminal Customs (Saints Custom Convertible and Saints Custom Stab Jacket)
If you’re looking to pick up the cheapest version of Saints Row, this is the way to go. Not only will get you some digital extras, but you can also trade in the game once you’ve finished, recouping a bit of your investment.
Notorious – $89.99
As it was with the Criminal Customs Edition, the Notorious Edition is also exclusive to GameStop. It features many of the same bonuses as the digital Platinum Edition, although it swaps out the copy of Saints Row The Third Remastered for an exclusive SteelBook and a few other collectible items.
- Base Game
- Idols Anarchy Pack
- Expansion Pass
- Double-sided poster
- Mini artbook
- 4 Santo Ileso postcards
- 4 character art cards
- Los Panteros American Muscle Bundle
- The Saints Criminal Customs
Although there aren’t any current pre-order discounts, make sure to set up a Deal Alert and we’ll let you know as soon as one is available.
