Despite a rocky gameplay reveal in 2020, the hype surrounding Infinite is at an all-time high. There are a few quirks fans aren’t happy about – such as the lack of cooperative play at launch – but overall, Infinite is shaping up to be another huge installment in the beloved franchise.

Which Version of Halo Infinite Should I Pre-Order?
Halo Infinite‘s pre-order situation is a bit unusual. Unlike many triple-A games that’ll launch with multiple editions in increasing price points, Microsoft is instead opting for multiple editions available for just $59.99 – although each edition is carried by a specific retailer.
It’s all slightly confusing, but here’s what you need to know:
Halo Infinite Standard Edition – $59.99
This is the most basic version of Halo Infinite, and it’s available at all retailers. You’ll get the base game and some exclusive in-game content depending on your retailer of choice. If you’re planning on picking up a digital version of Infinite, there’s not much need to worry about any of the below editions – just snag the base game and be ready when it drops in December.
Halo Infinite Collector’s SteelBook Edition – $59.99
Bear with us – SteelBooks are now available as a pre-order bonus through a variety of retailers. These typically include the Zeta Sky Armor, Weapon Coatings, Chosen Emblem and Nameplate along with the unique case, although you’ll need to verify through each retailer before purchase.
New pre-order discounts seem to be announced – or updated – on a weekly basis, so make sure to read the fine print before making a purchase. For now, here’s what we know comes with the SteelBook edition of Halo Infinite:
- Halo Infinite base game
- Exclusive Halo Infinite SteelBook
- Zeta Sky Armor (Retailer specific)
- Weapon Coatings (Retailer specific)
- Chosen Emblem (Retailer specific)
- Chosen Nameplate (Retailer specific)
Halo Infinite Collector’s SteelBook Edition + Mega Construx Halo Helmet – $59.99
Only available at Walmart, this exclusive edition of Halo Infinite comes with the following content:
- Halo Infinite base game
- Zeta Sky Armor
- Weapon Coatings
- Chosen Emblem
- Chosen Nameplate
- SteelBook
- Mega Construx Assorted Color Halo Helmet
