The long-awaited Halo TV series is heading exclusively to Paramount+ on March 24th, but Microsoft is making sure fans have an easy way to check out the action. Starting March 23rd, all Game Pass Ultimate members can pick up a free 30-day trial to Paramount+. The deal only applies to Game Pass Ultimate members, with PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass subscribers missing out on the perk.
The announcement was made last week by Kiki Wolfkill, Head of Halo Transmedia at 343 Industries. Wolfkill briefly discussed the Halo TV show’s first screening at South by Southwest, before revealing the big news about Paramount+. The only downside to the deal? Paramount+ is releasing just a single episode every week – meaning your free trial won’t cover the entire series. Still, the trial should give you a chance to check out the live series adaptation and determine if it’s worth picking up a Paramount+ subscription.
“For our biggest fans on Xbox, we are also thrilled to announce that they can watch the series starting day one,” said Wolfkill. “Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to stream Halo through an exclusive offer of Paramount+ for 30 days free via Perks, available to claim starting on March 23rd.”
To claim your free perks, head over to the Perks section on your Xbox or through the Xbox app. Then, simply navigate to the Paramount+ Trial to claim your free membership.

Other Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks

Halo fans have plenty to look forward to this month, as they’re getting more than just a TV show. As part of this month’s Game Pass Ultimate Perks, they can pick up a free Pass Tense Mongoose Bundle for Halo Infinite – giving them a new in-game Mongoose skin and several XP Boosters. If you’re not a Halo fan, you’ll still want to check out some of the following perks available through the rest of March and into the first few weeks of April.
Remember, you can only find these on your Xbox console or through the Xbox app for PC, iOS or Android.

  • Smite: Season 9 Starter Pass

  • EA Sports UFC 4: Fighter & Customization Bundle
