January 2026 saw over 2 million searches logged on Slickdeals, with interest shifting away from holiday shopping and towards practical purchases and winter necessities.
Let’s take a look at what keywords and categories Slickdeals users were most interested in last month:
Top January Search Terms
The following list represents the keywords users searched for the most on Slickdeals in January 2026, excluding any keywords that receive a high volume of searches year-round. As such, these keywords paint a clearer picture of trends unique to January 2026:
Winter Weather Came on Strong
In late January, a huge portion of the United States saw its heaviest snowfall in years. As such, it makes sense that shoppers turned to Slickdeals to find the best discounts on wintertime staples.
This past month, “snow blower,” “under armour” and “generator” made our list of top keywords, we also saw thousands of searches for each of the following related terms:
- heater
- space heater
- snow shovel
- snow boots
- boots
- jacket
- humidifier
While the presence of popular tax software”TurboTax” in our top keywords was almost certainly not related to the snowfall, its appearance was in response to another wintertime necessity: tax filing.
3D Printing & DIY Tech Continue Gaining Momentum
While 3D printer tech enjoyed sustained popularity throughout 2025, related searches dipped down in December as shoppers veered towards more classically giftable electronics. However, this category came back with a bang in January, with multiple related keywords experiencing a month-over-month increase in searches.
In January, “filament” generated 16,069 searches, while “3d printer” followed with 11,501 searches. It’s kind of exciting to see that filament outpaced 3d printer, as it means that many people have gone beyond the research stage and started actually printing things regularly enough to require refills.
This aligns with a broader trend we saw in January, wherein “Home & Home Improvement > Tools” was our second most-searched product category overall, bringing in 96,362 total searches. Shoppers were most interested in brand-based tool searches such as “milwaukee,” “dewalt” or ryobi”, but the general “tools” keyword still received almost 5,000 searches too.
Here’s a broader look at January’s top product categories:
Price Mistakes Abounded
While this might not be immediately obvious from the top keywords list, January 2026 brought forth a few incredible price mistakes, which brought with them an increase in related searches for the discount products.
Here’s a rundown of the most exciting price mistakes we saw in January:
A $1,600 OLED Monitor Went on Sale for $290
Starting the year off strong, the LG Partner Store briefly listed two powerful monitors for $290 and $350, when their MSRPs were $1,600 and $1,300, respectively. This deal sold out prety fast, and some orders were reportedly cancelled before they shipped, but this didn’t stop close to 35,000 people from searching keywords related to these deals.

A 15-Piece HENCKELS Knife Set sold for $28
The keyword “knife” spiked in the middle of January, likely because of this incredible deal. This knife set, which included multiple chef knives, sakuto knives, steak knives and a solid wood block, normally retails for $150 or more, savvy Slickdealers were able to score it for just $28 on Amazon. A discount this large on HENCKELS knives is nothing short of amazing.
A $500 RIDGID 18v Brushless Ratchet Went on Sale for $200
While the tools category had a great month overall, this price mistake certainly helped propel searches for RIDGID tools. Savvy Slickdeals users figured out that if you added RIDGID’s 3/8″ Extended Reach Ratchet and 18V Brushless 1/4″ Ratchet with Free Battery to you cart at Home Depot, the total would drop down to about $300 less than the products were advertised for.
That’s all for this month. Keep an eye out for our February Search Insights recap, which will cover how Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl impacted search trends on our site.
