Reading Time: 2 minutesFollowing months of rumors and speculation, Amazon is finally ready to talk about Prime Early Access, a Prime-exclusive shopping event advertising sitewide savings on electronics, toys, holiday decor, Amazon devices, furniture and more. Prime Early Access kicks off at midnight (PT) Tuesday, October 11th and runs through 11:59 p.m. (PT) Wednesday, October 12th.
What to Expect from the Prime Early Access Sale
Considering Amazon’s notoriously secretive sale schedule, we can only guess which products and Prime-exclusive perks might appear during Prime Early Access.
So far, we know the Prime Early Access sale will feature:
- A curated list highlighting the Top 100 giftable items of 2022, featuring brands like Hasbro, iRobot, KitchenAid, and Samsung
- Savings up to 80% on Fire TV smart TVs, along with deals on Alexa-enabled devices and select deals from LEGO, adidas, Furbo, and Ashley Furniture
- Holiday gift guides, such as the Home Gift Guide and Toys We Love, available now
- One free year of GrubHub+ for Prime members, available now
- Free 90-day Amazon Music Unlimited trial for Prime members, available now
- An expanded selection of new (and newly discounted, up to 50% off) TV shows and movies on Prime Video, available 9/30 through 10/7
Are There Two Prime Days?
Amazon isn’t advertising Prime Early Access as “another Prime Day,” but we expect a similar format: a two-day deal extravaganza advertising “hundreds of thousands of deals” to savvy holiday shoppers hoping to get ahead of the holiday rush.
We’ve never seen two major Prime-exclusive events occur in a single year. If you recall, we just celebrated Prime Day 2022 — with over 300 million items sold worldwide, it was Amazon’s biggest Prime Day event to date!
That said, Prime Early Access isn’t the first Prime event to land outside of mid-July, a tradition that began with Amazon’s inaugural 2015 Prime Day event. Prime Day 2020 was delayed to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while Prime Day 2021 was moved to June to avoid competing with the 2021 Summer Olympics.
While Amazon’s 2021 October event (Epic Daily Deals) offered deep discounts to the broader public, Prime Early Access will follow standard Prime Day procedure – you’ll need an Amazon Prime membership to participate fully and use Prime-exclusive coupons to access the lowest prices of the event.
What We Know About Amazon’s Secret Fall Sale
Rumors of a “second Prime Day” began circulating in June, just weeks before Prime Day took place on July 12th and 13th. According to internal documents obtained by Insider, several third-party merchants received a call for ‘Lightning deals’ for an upcoming “Prime Fall Deal Event” at Amazon.
Days before Amazon formally announced Prime Early Access, What Hi-fi? spotted a “Terms & Conditions” page for an upcoming “Prime Early Access – Alexa Exclusive Deal,” further evidence of Amazon’s upcoming “high-velocity sales event.”
None of these claims were confirmed or denied by Amazon, but the cat’s certainly out of the bag now — it’s officially time to get pumped for Amazon’s autumnal Prime deal destination.
Slickdeals is home to a vibrant community of research-oriented deal lovers who know the ins and outs of Prime Day intimately well — as soon as more information becomes available, everyone will know.
