What is Amazon Outlet?
Amazon Outlet carries items that are overstocked, on clearance or discontinued from a variety of shopping categories, including electronics, home decor, apparel, kitchen gadgets and so much more. These items are all new and even have brands that you may be used to seeing on the regular Amazon store page, but with bigger markdowns.
Maybe Amazon ordered too much of a certain item and it needs to free up some warehouse space by slashing prices. Perhaps some products have slight manufacturing imperfections. All that gets you a better deal on the hidden side of Amazon.
What’s the difference between Amazon Warehouse and Amazon Outlet?
Amazon Warehouse and Amazon Outlet sections both offer great deals for shoppers. The big difference is that items from Amazon Outlet are new overstocks and closeouts with rock bottom prices, while Amazon Warehouse offers used items.
- Amazon Warehouse carries products that are gently used that were ordered, returned, recommissioned and relisted for sale.
- Amazon Outlet items will be brand new, overstocked items that are offered at bargain low prices. Unlike Warehouse items that have been in someone else’s hands at some point, items from Amazon Outlet are new.
When shopping on Amazon, if you see prices for a used item, many times those are from the Amazon Warehouse and you’ll see a notation on who the seller is. Not all used items are warehouse items, so look for who the seller is under Compare New & Used.
How do I get to Amazon’s hidden sections?
To get to Amazon’s hidden Outlet section from a web browser:
- In the upper left, click the three horizontal lines where you see the word “All.”
- Scroll to “Programs & Features” and click on “See All” to expand the list.
- Keep scrolling until you see “Amazon Outlet.” You can also just go to amazon.com/outlet and bookmark this link.
To find the Amazon Outlet section on the Amazon app, click the three horizontal lines in the bottom right section and select “Deals & Savings.” You’ll see the “Amazon Outlet” and “Warehouse” in the sub-menu.

How do I find the best deals on Amazon Outlet?
If you’ve made your way to the Amazon Outlet, the best deals are all right in front of you. But there are so many it is hard to know where to begin.
Here are some Amazon Outlet shopping tips to help you get started:
- Start with the Outlet Deals section, where you can see the current discounted items on the site. Here you will find some of the best new deals of the day.
- Check out the Under $10 section to see if there are basics you need like underwear, kitchen gadgets, or beauty supplies.
- Filter by Discounts: For the deepest discounts, scroll down until you find your desired category on the left side menu, and then look for “Discount” and select “50% off or more” to find deals.
- Don’t forget the Last Chance category: Scroll down and navigate to the Last Chance section to find some of the most reduced items and add them to your cart while you can.
- Act fast for Limited Time Deals: Some limited-time deals will have a countdown on when the sale ends. If you’re on the fence, it’s generally better to buy it and return it later than miss out on the deal completely. Inventory can also be limited so you want to get it before it’s sold out.
